About the program

The Hebrew University’s Faculty of Medicine is pleased to launch a new program that aims to train the next generation of scientific leaders, who will be at the forefront of biomedical research in Israel and the world.

The program offers a dedicated training track in which participants will be guided in conducting research in the field of human diseases, the molecular mechanisms underlying them, and advanced methods of identifying and treating diseases.

The studies will take place at the Hebrew University, in the Ein-Kerem campus in Jerusalem, which is shared by the Hebrew University and Hadassah Medical Center.

Participants will complete a doctorate in biomedical sciences in a direct-track program and will receive the highest-level training for integration in academic research or in the medical industry.

The program is intended for excelling students with a bachelor’s degree who possess outstanding academic abilities, as well as high motivation to join the top levels of biomedical research.

More Details

Participants will begin their studies under a Master’s program, and after one year will transition to a Ph.D. program in which they will continue for up to five additional years to complete the degree.

Each student’s studies will be instructed by one of the research faculty members in the Faculty of Medicine, according to their choice and the acceptance of the supervisor.

Eligibility

Excellent students that obtain a Bachelor’s degree in life sciences, medicine, or related fields such as chemistry, computer science, engineering, or physics from recognized academic institutions.

Admission to the doctorate track will be based on bachelor degree grades and a personal interview, which includes reading an article and presenting a research proposal.
