Mr. Isadore Sharp was recently awarded an Honorary Doctorate from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.

Presented by Professor Asher Cohen, President of the Hebrew University, and hosted by Mrs. Rosalie Sharp, the intimate ceremony was attended by incoming National Chair, Michael Kraft, outgoing Chair, Monette Malewski, former National Chairs Ron Appleby and Nathan Lindenberg, CFHU CEO Rami Kleinmann, Nan Wilkins, long time EA to Mr. Sharp, and CFHU VP Debbie Dankoff.

Upon bestowing the award, Professor Cohen remarked on Mr. Sharp’s many accomplishments as a renowned visionary, philanthropist, and businessman. His sentiments echoed those of the presentation scroll, read by Mrs. Sharp:

Honoring his dedication to giving back to his community, supporting the arts and medicine in Toronto, Canada and the Jewish community worldwide; a celebrated business leader, growing a single hotel into a leading global hospitality company; in memory of his beloved parents, Max and Lena z”l, who established the family’s tradition of supporting The Hebrew University of Jerusalem; and with gratitude to him and his wife, Rosalie, for their generous support that enables the Hebrew University to achieve excellence, including the Isadore Sharp Einstein Doctoral Scholarships and other scholarship endowments.

Expressing his gratitude, Professor Cohen noted that “Isadore Sharp’s contributions to Hebrew University and the community we serve are an enduring testament to the power of vision and generosity in shaping Israel’s future leaders.”
