Walk in Their Shoes 4 Change
Campaign to support Israelis of Ethiopian descent
In November 2022, a diverse delegation from North America and Israel came together to embark on a five-day journey to Ethiopia.
Traveling alongside Ethiopian Jewish educators, they reconnected with the rich history of the community, connected to the historic walk and struggles of the 1980s and ‘90s to arrive in Israel, and learned of the situation of those still awaiting the opportunity to reunite with family in Israel and to fulfill their dream of a returning to Jerusalem.
With your help, the Hebrew University, in partnership with The Morris and Rosalind Goodman Family Foundation, will work to ensure that all Ethiopian Israelis who wish to study at and have been admitted to the Hebrew University, have the financial resources needed – ensuring a most positive and life-enriching educational experience at Israel’s leading university and Jerusalem’s center of academic excellence. The financial scholarships created through this campaign will make a significant difference and aid with tuition, living expenses, and personalized academic guidance.
