On Thursday September 29th, The Toronto Alumni Connects Committee hosted internationally acclaimed Israeli Professor, Zohar Kerem, from the Faculty of Agriculture at the Hebrew University. The event took place at the beautiful home of Hebrew University supporter Nicole English and we thank her for her hospitality. The Alumni & Friends event was chaired by CFHU Toronto Board Member & Alumni Connects Committee co-chair, Adam Cooper. Adam welcomed our guests and talked about the importance of providing interesting and educational programming for our Toronto Alumni. Professor Kerem talked about the ‘Israeli Secrets to Healthier Life – The story of Olive Oil and Wine’, discussing and revealing many of the nutritional aspects and secrets hidden in olive oil and wine, as well as their role in the renowned Mediterranean diet. An olive oil tasting was held at the end of the lecture, allowing the audience to personally experience the differences between the different types of olive oil and learn how to recognize the quality of good olive oils. The Toronto Alumni Committee would like to thank Professor Kerem for his captivating talk and we will now be putting Israeli Olive Oil on everything we eat going forward!
