Reflections on My Time at Hebrew University

In 1996, I came to Hebrew University from Montreal for a one-year program at the Rothberg School for overseas students. After spending such a meaningful year on campus, I decided to move permanently to Israel and completed my B.A. in International Relations followed by an MBA at HU.

My years there, starting from 1996 until almost consecutively my MBA graduation in 2005, provided me the academic foundation for my career, which began at the Jerusalem Institute for Israel Studies. There, I worked on the development of policy initiatives with the government of Israel and with the Jerusalem Development Authority to foster the biomed industry.

While nearing completion of my MBA, I made the move into industry, first filling business development and finance roles, and later as the CEO of an incubator medical device company. In 2013, I took on my current position as the CEO of XACT Robotics, advancing the field of radiology and pioneering the first hands-free robotic system, combining image-based planning and navigation with instrument insertion and steering capabilities. Last month (Dec 2019), XACT debuted its robotic system at RSNA (Radiological Society of North America) in Chicago.

I believe my studies and the opportunity to get intimately familiar with the biomed industry while I was at HU, paved the road to where I am today. I’m very excited as we bring this innovative technology to market.
