Reflections on my time at HU

By Ziona Eyob, Montreal

In 2005, upon my graduation from Herzliah High School in Montreal I was awarded a scholarship from the Canadian Friends of Hebrew University and off I went to study on the one-year Freshman Year Abroad Program at Rothberg’s International School.

For as long as I can remember, it was always evident that I wanted to pursue a future that immersed me in international settings. Rothberg was one of my first real global experiences in that sense as it connected me with students from all over the world from a variety of cultural backgrounds. Today, I work in an international career in communications for a think tank that does research on sustainable development.

I have visited 25 countries so far and hope to see many more. My experience at Rothberg fostered a deep desire to connect with a broad range of people from different corners of the world, and for that I am grateful.
