“We were always supporters of Israel,
but after our time at Hebrew U it went from being another country to one of our homes.”
– Rabbi Jonathan Infeld
Rabbi Infeld and his wife Lissa will be returning to the school again this summer when they lead Beth Israel’s Israel trip
Melanie and Greg in Chicago
For most students, The Hebrew University of Jerusalem is a place to study, learn Hebrew, experience life in Israel and a great springboard for travel.
For Greg and Melanie Samuels it was all that and a spaghetti-filled courtship that lead to marriage.
Segal Family: Stephanie, Justin, Nanci, Gary, Adam, Hale“Little did I know how life changing an experience attending the Hebrew University of Jerusalem would be. Being at a world class campus in one of the most beautiful cities in the world, Jerusalem, where an omnipresent sense of ancient history permeates the air, is intellectually and emotionally stimulating in and of itself.”– Gary Segal

Wosk Family“Our family has been connected to Hebrew University for three generations. Mordehai’s father, Morris J. Wosk, served on the International Board of Governors. Mordehai attended the Overseas Student Program in Jeusalem in 1969/70. Together, Mordehai and Hana studied Jewish Philosophy at Hebrew U in 1974/75.
Daniel is currently attending the Hebrew U’s Rothberg International Students Program on Mt. Scopus. The time we have spent at the University, learning Hebrew and meeting students from around the world, has and continues to deeply strengthen our Jewish identity and our lasting bond with Israel.” Mordehai, Hana, Ariel and Daniel Wosk.
Kaiser-BluethIf you ask Rabbi Claudio Kaiser-Blueth to tell you his most cherished memories of the years he spent (1971-73) at the Hebrew University’s Hashlama Program, he is likely to mention any number of things. “To study Tanach so intensively and be physically in the same spot where the action took place, was an awesome experience. To pray in our Holy Land, to be engaged in the daily life of Kibbutz Galuyot, to experience the presence of so many people coming from the four corners of the world, to be a witness at the wedding of a friend, a German Jew who was born in a DP camp and married a Yemenite woman, was just ineffable. Where else in the world could this have happened?”
