Winnipeg Pesach Lunch n Learn
Israeli Journalist, Ben-Dror Yemini, To Speak At Special Pesach Lunch
Born in Tel-Aviv, Israel, in 1954, son of an old family in Israel who arrived at the beginning of the 20th century from Yemen. He grew up in a poor neighborhood and served in the army without completing high school. During his military service, he completed his matriculation exams and after the army, he began studying at Tel-Aviv University, first in Humanities and History and then in the Law school.
After his university studies, Ben-Dror Yemini was appointed advisor to the Minister of Immigration and Absorption and then became the spokesman of the Ministry. After that, he began his career as a journalist and essayist and published the book “Political Punch” which deals in a critical way with politics and society in Israel. At the same time Yemini worked as a lawyer and was a partner in a law firm.
Since 2003 Yemini was the opinion-editor of the daily newspaper Maariv and also published many articles and essays in other journals. In the last years Yemini researched the “industry of lies” (as he calls it) about false publications against the State of Israel and its Jewish character. In this framework, Yemini published a series of research articles about the Israeli-Arab conflict in which he examined the issue of genocide, refugees, Palestinian and Arab capital and the status of Israeli Arabs. All these articles included a comparative study about each topic.
His different articles concerning the Israeli-Arab conflict and his series of articles lead him to become the most translated Israeli journalist and a widely invited speaker in Israel and other countries.
