Robert Lantos In Jerusalem For Premiere Screening Of ‘Remember’

The Halbert Centre for Canadian Studies at the Hebrew University, held the premiere screening of Robert Lantos’ newest film ‘Remember’ at The Jerusalem Cinematheque on April 5th, 2016. The event featured an open discussion moderated by Prof. Raya Morag of the Department of Communication and Journalism.

Robert Lantos, film producer and executive  was born in Budapest and immigrated to Canada with his family after several years in Uruguay. He spent his teen years in Montréal and studied literature at McGill University. In the two-and-a-half decades after leaving McGill, Lantos became Canada's most powerful player in the world of motion pictures. He was chairman and chief executive officer of Alliance Communications Corporation until 1998 and, as long-time head of Canada's largest motion picture and television production and distribution company, has been one of the key figures in the development of the Canadian film industry in the last 30 years of the 20th century and the early decades of the 21st.

The Halbert Centre for Canadian Studies at the Hebrew University co-sponsored by Ralph and Roz Halbert, Toronto, and the Government of Canada, fosters research and promotes the understanding and knowledge of Canadian civilization among Israeli academics and the public at large in the areas of social sciences, humanities, law, social work, and business administration. Activities focus on research, publications, public lectures, a visiting professors program, courses in Canadian studies, library resources, international workshops and conferences, and promoting academic exchanges between the Hebrew University and Canadian Universities.
