Happy Chanukah from CFHU

Dr. Vincent Ani, IMPH Student
Vincent is 39 years old and hails from Nigeria. He has six siblings and dedicated parents, who instilled in him a love for math from an early age, and encouraged him to purse higher education. Vincent obtained a bachelor's in Computer Science/Statistics, a master's in Electronic Engineering and in 2016, a Doctorate in Electrical Engineering from the University of Nigeria.

Why Hebrew U?
"I choose to study at the Hebrew University-Hadassah Braun School of Public Health and Community Medicine because I know the education will provide me with the right background and practical skills, allowing me to make a real difference in the health and solar energy field. The program will assist me in gaining the valuable knowledge necessary to achieve my goal."

What are you studying?
"I am dedicated to making renewable energy more accessible for critical public institutions in Nigeria and other developing countries, particularly for health facilities, which are one of the most important public institutions to well-being. During my PhD work, I gained a strong expertise in designing small-scale solar energy systems, particularly for health facilities, where constant energy outages and shortages can lead to death or disabilities in critical care situations, particularly women in childbirth, newborns, and emergency treatments."

What is your favorite holiday tradition?
My favourite holiday tradition is exchanging Christmas gifts, lighting the candles and listening to Christmas carols.

What was a miracle that happened to you this year?
The incredible generosity of my scholarship.

What word or short expression represents the holidays for you? Explain why.
