Second ‘Empowered By CFHU’ Event Reaps Success With Young Winnipeg Jewish Women - May 11, 2017
22 young Jewish women from different professional backgrounds gathered on Thursday, May 11th, for the second ‘Empowered by CFHU’ event for a Sushi workshop and a Self-Care seminar. The event began with a sushi workshop led by local Chef Sergei Didenko. Later, the women welcomed Jillian McIntosh, a psychotherapist who works to provide psychoeducation that promotes autonomy, resilience, creativity and compassion within women. McIntosh gave an insightful and empowering seminar, discussing the practice of self-care for women, debunking myths, and focusing on the different challenges that women face. The project was initiated by Sigal Kleynerman, CFHU's Hebrew University Community Ambassador to Winnipeg, and local Jewish young professional Alexa Solomon, marketing and community coordinator for 'FarmLink Marketing Solutions' and 'Farm At Hand' in Winnipeg.
