Montreal Chapter

The Montreal Chapter of the Canadian Friends of the Hebrew University was established under the leadership of the late Allan Bronfman. Through fundraising efforts and promotion of the Hebrew University’s programs, facilitating academic exchange and furthering Canada-Israel relations, the Montreal Chapter has played an integral role in the University’s growth and development.

Bi-annually, fundraising dinners are held to honour outstanding Montrealers; Paul Desmarais. Edward J. Winant, Marcelle and Jean Coutu, J. Stephen Lipper, Roslyn and Harvey Wolfe, and L. Jacques Ménard to name a few.

Growing up with a strong Jewish and Zionist identity, I was given the opportunity to spend a year of high school in Israel. I fell in love with Israel, the land and its people. I was looking to return to spend another year in Israel, I chose the Rothberg International School which I attended from 1991/92.
