BoG 2015

Pre-Board Program - May 27-29

Dragon Boat Israel (DBI) is a joint Canada-Israel initiative introducing the sport of dragon boat racing to Israel. Dragon boat racing is a dynamic team sport that originated in China centuries ago, but is now quickly gaining popularity around the world.

Several members of a Canadian dragon boat team thought it would be fun to combine their love of dragon boat racing with their love of Israel, and DBI came to life. Not only is dragon boat racing a fun and exciting team sport, but many festivals also take the opportunity to raise money for charitable organizations. DBI is proud to have The Hebrew University of Jerusalem as its charitable partner for the 3rd International Dragon Boat Israel Festival May 28 – 29, 2015 on the shores of the Kinneret. Thirty-nine teams of 20 paddlers will race a 300 meter course that runs from the mouth of the Jordan River along the shores of the lake.

CFHU participants will stay at the beautiful Leonardo Plaza hotel in Tiberias. The package will include breakfasts at the hotel and transportation to and from the DBI site. We will depart Tiberias after the festival, arriving in Jerusalem in time to freshen up and begin participating in the BOG activities.
